Mental Health Workshop – How Yoga Can Help

I will be speaking how Yoga can help at a Workshop organized by Touching Lives Foundation on Mental Health and Well-Being. Everyone interested in gaining more insights and practical ways to support mental health are welcome to join. I will also be guiding you for a relaxing meditation which can help relax your mind and lower your heart rate which promotes overall well-being. This event is absolutely free but registration is required. Refreshments will be served.

How Yoga Benefits Your Mental Health?

Yoga can help in reducing stress, improving mood, boosting self-esteem. Yoga can help in enhancing mind-body connection greatly. Yoga has been shown to have numerous benefits for mental health.

One of the key ways that yoga asanas and meditation supports mental health is through its emphasis on mindfulness and present moment awareness. By focusing on the breath and the sensations in the body, practitioners are able to quiet the mind and reduce the constant chatter of thoughts that can contribute to feelings of stress and overwhelm.

Starting November 1, 2022 every year this month will be celebrated as Hindu Heritage Month. Check the events related to Hindu Heritage Month 2024 in Metro Vancouver at the bottom of this page.

Hindu Community in Vancouver and elsewhere in Canada thanked MP Chandra for bringing the motion about Hindu Heritage Month and also thanked Government of Canada for the honor & the recognition. Metro Vancouver is home to a large and vibrant Hindu community which has made important contributions across a variety of sectors. Hindutva is the third most popular religion in Canada. Diwali, one of the most significant Hindu festivals, falls in either November or October each year.

Hindu Community in Vancouver and other parts of Canada continues to organize various events to celebrate this day. In Canada, Hindus have been an integral part of Canadian society since 1903. Over the past 120 years, Hindu communities have flourished and grown immensely as per the statement of Minsiter Khera on Hindu Heritage Month in 2023.

Happy Hindu Heritage Month Canada!

It is an opportunity for others to learn more about Hindu culture, respect each other more and make a vibrant multicultural & peaceful society in the process.
